As an individual, supporter, volunteer, donor, or visitor submitting personally identifying information to MMS or any of our staff, both online and offline, you consent to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy and to our processing and use of Personal Information and Non-Personal Information for the purposes stated herein. 

Personal Information

“Personal Information” is any information or set of information that identifies you personally, including but not limited to your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and demographic information. Personal Information does not include information that is encoded, aggregated, anonymized, or publicly available information that has not been combined with non-public Personal Information. If you do submit Personal Information to us, we will use that information for the purposes for which it was submitted. 

How We Collect Personal Information

The Personal Information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your Personal Information, including: 

  • If you contact us directly and voluntarily to request information regarding our mission, awards, fundraising campaigns, services, or otherwise, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, address, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.
  • When you register for an account or event, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as name, company name, address, email address, and telephone number.
  • When you make a donation or otherwise participate in a fundraising activity, we may collect Personal Information such as your name, billing address, e-mail address, and information regarding your donation, including the amount and source of your donation, and any special instructions you may provide. This may occur via our Website, at a MMS event, over the phone, or by receiving a physical check. When making a donation, you may choose to provide Personal Information or make the donation anonymously. MMS also collects, but does not retain, credit card numbers to process donation payments. Please note: donors are separately bound to the terms and conditions of any of any credit cards, financial institutions, or other payment portals.
  • In the event an employer establishes a giving fund their employees can contribute to, MMS will request the specific donor’s consent in sharing their personal information back with the employer and for the limited purposes of substantiating the donation.
  • When you submit volunteer or job applications. 
  • From time to time, we may collect personal information from you in ways not described above for the purposes of further our mission.

Non-Personal Information

Non-Personal Information may include: 

  • Cookies and Other Locally Stored Objects. MMS may collect information via technical methods, including but not limited to cookies, JavaScript tags, web beacons, pixel gifs, Flash cookies, and other locally stored objects, now known or developed in the future. Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behavior information. You may disable cookies and other locally stored objects by rejecting cookies from this Website, in your browser, or on your device. If you decide to reject cookies, you will still be able to access the Website, however, in a few cases, some Website features may not function as a result.

These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the Website, and gathering demographic information.

How We Protect Your Personal Information and Non-Personal Information

MMS makes a commitment to donors and other users of its Website to never sell any Personal Information to third parties for direct marketing or commercial use. 

MMS takes commercially reasonable steps to protect both Personal Information and Non-Personal Information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No security system, method of Internet transmission, or data storage, however, is fully impenetrable. As such, MMS cannot guarantee the security of our databases or that the Personal Information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to and from us over the Internet. In the event that MMS should discover a security breach, we will notify all potentially affected users within a reasonable timeframe and take all reasonable steps to remedy. 

Data Retention

MMS shall retain data for the following periods: 

  • Personal Information: 20 years Agreed
  • Non-Personal Information: 12 months Agreed

Once this time period has expired, we will delete such information. 

Non-U.S. Residents

MMS is located and operated primarily in the United States. Users that are located outside of the United States must be aware that any Personal Information provided will be transferred into the United States. 

California Consumer Privacy Act Rights (Do Not Sell My Personal Information)

It is MMS’s policy not to disclose any Personal Information we collect to third parties for direct marketing purposes under any circumstances. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, Cal. Civ. Code §§1798.100 et. seq. (CCPA), among other rights, California consumers have the right to:

  • Request that a for-profit organization that collects a user’s Personal Information disclose the categories and specific pieces of Personal Information that a non-profit organization has collected about users.
  • Request that a for-profit organization deletes any Personal Information about the user that a non-profit organization has collected.
  • Request that a for-profit organization that sells a user’s Personal Information, not sell the user’s Personal Information. MMS does not sell users’ Personal Information.

MMS’s Website and social media may from time to time contain links to other websites. This Privacy Policy only applies to MMS’s Website. If you click on a link to another website, you should read and understand their privacy policy.

Accessing and Modifying Information

MMS will grant individuals reasonable access to Personal Information stored within our company servers and by our direct agents. Such requests must be made in writing and submitted to Michael Mann and may request requests to review, modify, or delete Personal Information. MMS further complies with those provisions of the CAN-SPAM Act applicable to charitable organizations. E-mail recipients may also opt out of receiving e-mail communications by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link located within any e-mail originating from within MMS or on the Website. In certain circumstances, it may not be possible to completely remove or modify Personal Information. 

Availability to Visually Impaired

Children’s Information

MMS is committed to the protection for children while using the Internet and compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity. If you are 13 years of age or older, but under the age of 18, you should review the Agreement with your parent or guardian to make sure that you and your parent or guardian understand it. 

MMS does not knowingly collect any Personal Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our Website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

What and where we store

  • If you are an affiliate, we store a cookie with your affiliate ID and map it to the user accessing our site with your link.
  • If you are a visitor accessing our site with the affiliate link, we store your IP address. And if you place an order, then your order details are stored along with your IP address.

Export/Delete personal data

Exporting personal data is available for both – affiliate and visitor.

Export/delete of personal data will be processed only after receiving confirmation about it.

For deleting cookie data, a visitor can simply delete cookies from their browser.

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Card unique identifiers: these IDs, returned by Stripe when submitting card details, will be stored to help you check out faster next time you make a purchase on our store.

  • Subscription unique identifiers: these IDs will identify subscriptions on Stripe and will help us manage renewals that come from Stripe platform.

We accept payments through Stripe. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Stripe, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

If you opt-in to receive marketing updates we may use your personal information to provide you with product updates or marketing communications that we believe may be of interest to you. Personal data may also be used by our internal system to automate processes of our store.
